CRSE2509-0065-HVAC Principles and Code Essentials-(PLT/RT/RE) This two-hour course provides electricians and Power Limited Technicians (PLTs) REgistered Unlicensed Technicians with an in depth review of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements as they apply to residential and commercial HVAC systems. Students will examine how code articles impact the installation and servicing of motors, air-conditioning equipment, appliances, heating equipment, grounding and bonding, and electrical clearances. Special emphasis is placed on disconnect placement, lockout/tagout, labeling, and coordination between trades to ensure safety and compliance. (2 Hours NEC Code)
2 CEU Hours - CRSE2512-0016-HVAC Basics & Concepts- (PLT/RT/RE) This 2-hour technical course provides a practical overview of how HVAC systems work from a technician’s point of view.The class focuses on understanding how heating and cooling systems communicate through low-voltage control wiring and how each component including thermostat, furnace, air handler, condenser, and control board functions together as one system. We will learn the basics of airflow, sequence of operation, thermostat logic, and control board functions. The class moves beyond simple wiring diagrams to explain why systems operate the way they do and how to troubleshoot them efficiently in the field. This class meets the State requirement for 2 Code hours.
Article 722 Limited Energy Cabling 2026 NEC (CODE)- This 4-hour National Electrical Code (NEC) course provides an in-depth review of significant changes and reorganizations introduced in the 2026 NEC, with a primary focus on Chapter 7 – Special Conditions, including the expanded and consolidated Article 722 (Limited-Energy Cables) and its interaction with Articles 723, 724, 725, and 726. The course explains how cable and wiring requirements for communications, optical fiber, Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, network-powered broadband, and power-limited fire alarm circuits have been reorganized into a unified structure, improving clarity while introducing new compliance considerations.
This course is designed for Power Limited Technicians (PLT), Registered Unlicensed RT/RE, Journeymen, Master Electricians, and other licensed electrical professionals who install, maintain, inspect, or design low-voltage and limited-energy systems.
