2 CEU Hours -   20150380 Advanced Burglar Alarm 2015  A sequel to Basic Burglar Alarm Detection and Operation; This class for the individual that has taken the Basic introduction class, or has at least 3 years’ experience in the field. Subjects include Device selection, Design and layout, Partitions and zones. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

4 CEU Hours -  20150776  Addressable 2 Wire Irrigation  This class is designed for the landscape contractor who needs to understand 2 wire addressable irrigation systems. The class will review converting an existing system as well as installing a complete system from scratch. This class meets the state requirement for 4 technical hours.

2 CEU Hours - 20150099 Basics Of Access Control Systems  Design Layout, and installation as well as features, pluses, limitations and basic types will be covered. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

2 CEU Hours - 20160309 Basic Burglar Alarm 2016  This class is designed for the beginning alarm installer, dispatcher, office personnel who need to know the basics. False alarm prevention, alarm devices, Alarm education, all are covered in this class that is also approved for 2 contact hours by the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers post board for credits. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

4 CEU Hours – 20160408 Basic Burglar Alarm Installation 2016  This class is a Hands On set up and installation class.  Students will set up and program a small security alarm panel in a lab situation.  The basic alarm functions will be tested and communicated.  This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

2 CEU Hours -20160612 Basics For Cable And Telephone 2017 This is a 2 hour code class with some of the basics for the Telephone/Fiber, and Cable TV/Broadband Installer.  This class meets the 2 hour code requirement for Registered Unlicensed Technicians as well as 2 hours for Licensed Tech. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

2 CEU Hours - 20160171 Basics of Fire Alarms 2016 Non-Brand specific covering NFPA and Electrical code requirements for Fire alarms and fire reporting. Dealing with the AHJ and determining who the AHJ is. The liabilities and responsibilities for testing and reporting are also covered. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

2 CEU Hours – 20150762 Bonding For Other Systems : This course is a 2 code hour CEU presentation for the Power Limited Tech as well as others concerned with Bonding Equipment and Bonding Ground Connections for Telephone, Cable system providers as well as Satellite and related technologies. This course is intended for inspectors, electricians, power limited technicians, unlicensed electrical workers and individuals involved with the installation of electrical systems for building and structures, the installation of communications services delivered via twisted pairs, coaxial cables, optical fibers, and those systems employing exterior-mounted antennas. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

4 CEU Hours – 20170417 Class 2 and Class 3 Circuits NEC 725,  a 4 hour CEU NEC code class.  This class includes the changes and the additions to the code for 2017.  Including the changes as they relate to PoE and other power and listing changes. Other topics include control and signal circuits, Circuit identification and installation requirements.  4 NEC code Hours.  This class meets the State requirement for 4 Code hours.

2 CEU Hours - 20160310 Communications Via Alternate Protocols 2016 Communications issues for the Telephone industry:  This class addresses the issues created when technology changes from copper to fiber fed phone lines and the effect on the alarm industry that is addressed in the NFPA 72 2013 edition. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

2 CEU Hours - 20150764  Introduction to Fire Stop  This course is an important part of all installation projects. Proper fire stop is covered for new construction as well as retrofit applications. Definitions and terminology as practical applications and code requirements are covered.  This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

6 CEU Hours – 20150288 Low Voltage Cable Pulling   A 6-hour video enhanced course designed to teach all aspects of communications, data, and other types of low voltage cabling. With test as you go to ensure comprehension of techniques and precautions when working in commercial spaces. This is a course for beginners as well as those with some experience in the field. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

2 CEU Hours - 20150386 Low Voltage Wiring 2015  This Class is an overview of Voice, Data, Audio, and Video Installation best practices, primarily with a Business emphasis. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

2 CEU Hours – 20150121 Low Power Wireless Communications  Design Layout, and installation as well as features, pluses, limitations and basic types will be covered. This class qualifies for State required Technical CEU Credits

2 CEU Hours - 20170481 MN Rules 2017 An updated review of the Rules for Licensing and Inspection in Minnesota. Provides updated information on on-line renewal, CE requirements, and filing, deadline review and new fee schedules. This class meets the State requirement for Rules / Technical hours.

2 CEU Hours -20140721 NEC Chapter 1 Part 1 2014 National Electrical Code Chapter 1 part 1 is the first in a two part series designed for the Technician who has very little contact with Electrical equipment and installations. This class is also appropriate for the Registered Unlicensed Technician. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

2 CEU Hours - 20160755 NEC Article 680 2017  NEC 680 This section of the code is what the Landscaping and irrigation people have been asking for, this part of the code is all about outdoor lighting and irrigation. Specific areas of interest are those with outdoor water features, pools, spas, fountains, and other man made water features. Finally a class for those industries. This class meets the State requirement for 2 Code hours.

2 CEU Hours - 20160786  NEC Article 725 2017  The National Electrical Code chapters that relate to Class 1, 2, and 3 wiring. Related chapters such as Hazardous locations and Technology areas are referenced. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

2 CEU Hours –20160785 NEC Article 760 2017  This class is all about Power limited fire alarm installations and, class 2, and Class 3 control and signaling circuits and installation practices that relate to PLFA and clear definitions of what is a Non-Power limited alarm system. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

2 CE Hours - 20160800 NEC Article 800 2017 Communications cabling installations with a high emphasis on Grounding, Bonding, and installation requirements. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

4 CEU Hours - 20140660 NEC Chapter 8 2014 This is an in depth review of Chapter 8 including Articles, 800  communications, 810, Antennae installation requirements, 820 Radio and Television Antennae’s, 830 Network powered broadband, and 840 Premise powered Broadband. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

2 CE Hours - 20160740 NEC CODE CHANGES 2017 PART 1; NEC CODE CHANGES 2017 PART 1 is a review of Chapters, and articles 90, through 725 of the 2017 code book that most apply to Power Limited Technicians as well as Registered Unlicensed Techs. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

4 CEU Hours - 20160754  NEC & The PLT 2017  A comprehensive review of the sections of the code that has meaning to the PLT. A synopsis of NEC codes Chapter 1-5 based on the 2017 code This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

4 CEU Hours - 20160764  NEC & The PLT II 2017 Highlighting additional parts of the code that concern the installation of Technology Systems. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

4 CEU Hours - 20140696 Outdoor Lighting 2014 This class is a 4-hour class covering the design, layout, equipment requirements, voltage calculations, and aesthetic considerations for outdoor lighting. The various types of lighting are discussed including LED lighting and precautions and safety considerations. Sizing of power supplies and lamp wattages as well as wire sizes with calculation tables are included. This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

 

2 CEU Hours – 20160787 Power Limited Installations 2017; This Class is an overview of Voice, Data, Audio, and Video Installation best practices, primarily with a Business emphasis. This class meets the State requirement for Code hours.

2 CEU Hours - 20170329 Securing & Supporting 2017 Securing and supporting covers the rules for fastening cables and equipment in various environments. NEC Article 300.11 and the related articles in other articles are emphasized.  With the inspectors looking at our work, let us do it in a workmanlike manner.  This class meets the State requirement for 2 Code hours.

2 CEU Hours -  20160407  Termination of Cable for Communications 2016   Termination and testing of communications Cables.  This class designed for the communications contractor and technicians that do Category cable, Ethernet, and coax termination testing for Band width, speed, and integrity.  This class meets the State requirement for technical hours.

2 CEU Hours – 20150278 Testing At The Branch Circuit Receptacle; Training in the above area is intended to support multiple articles/sections of the NEC including relevant portions of Article 90, 100, 110, 200, 210, 240, 250, 400 and 406. These references are included in the PowerPoint presentation. The testing methods described therein are, of course, is limited to those activities that can be performed by a power limited technician or registered unlicensed technician and to not promote or recommend performance of any work or action prohibited by Chapter 326B of the Minnesota Statutes. This class meets the State requirement for 1 Code 1 technical hours.
